Loading and Unloading Equipment category encompasses machinery that performs the critical dual functions of extracting bulk materials from stockpiles and simultaneously loading them onto transport vehicles, serving as the vital link between material storage and the conveying system. At the forefront of this category is the reclaimer-loader (also known as a stockyard machine or combined stacker-reclaimer), a self-propelled mechanical device designed to scoop materials directly from stockpiles using various digging mechanisms and transfer them via an onboard conveyor system to adjacent trucks, railcars, or barges. These machines are indispensable in bulk material handling operations such as mining, port terminals, power plants, steel mills, and large-scale aggregate processing facilities. Based on their digging principle, reclaimer-loaders are primarily classified into two types: the bucket-chain reclaimer-loader, which employs a continuous chain fitted with digging buckets to scrape material from the stockpile face with high efficiency and precision, making it ideal for cohesive or compacted materials like clay, ore, and coal; and the bucket-wheel reclaimer-loader, which utilizes a large rotating wheel equipped with multiple buckets to scoop material in a sweeping motion, offering exceptionally high throughput rates and smooth continuous operation, particularly suited for free-flowing materials such as grains, limestone, and coke. Some advanced models also feature dual-function stacker-reclaimer configurations, enabling both stockpile building and reclaiming operations within a single machine. The key advantage of these loaders lies in their ability to eliminate manual labor-intensive shoveling and reduce loading cycle times significantly, with capacities ranging from a few hundred to several thousand tons per hour depending on the model and application. They are often equipped with crawler or rail-mounted traveling gear for mobility across the stockyard, articulated booms for reaching different stockpile zones, and integrated weighing systems for precise load measurement. By streamlining the transition from bulk storage to outbound logistics, loading and unloading equipment dramatically enhances material flow efficiency, reduces operational costs, and minimizes product degradation during handling, making them an essential investment for any high-throughput bulk handling operation.
